Gamevil and Com2us merge in the US

Mobile companies combine to focus efforts in North America

The ongoing merger of Gamevil and Com2us continues with the combination of its operations in the USA.

The two Korean mobile firms have announced that their newly merged North American entity will be renamed Gamevil Com2us USA and will run joint operations, marketing and other business activities going forward.

This is the latest step in efforts to streamline the mobile empire, having seen similar mergers between the firms' regional offices in Germany and Singapore last year.

Gamevil acquired Com2us back in 2013. Having worked closely together since then, the Korean firms have been merging overseas operations in order to strengthen their positions in each market.

However, the main offices for each company in Korea remain separate with no word on whether or not there are plans for a merger.

To date, Gamevil has racked up over 500 million downloads across its extensive games portfolio, while Com2us' fortunes are largely tied to the hugely successful Summoners War, which has generated $1bn in revenue since launching in 2014.

We spoke to the merged Gamevil Com2us Europe last year about esports plans for Summoners War.
