Following the success of the first UK national pavilion at the E3 trade show in Los Angeles last May, the organisers of the pavilion are seeking applications from UK game companies to take part in next year's event.

The venture, which is organised by Trade Partners UK and the Department of Trade and Industry, will next year take over a 2500 square foot pavilion next door to Sony's stand in the West Hall of the LA Convention Centre.

Designed by Studio Myerscough and organised in collaboration with the British Council, the pavilion is designed to be a showcase for UK game publishing and development, and last year it was hailed as a major success by the 36 UK companies who used its facilities to do business.

Applications are now being taken for places on the stand next May, and interested companies should contact Julie Gutierrez-Fletcher on 020 7389 3036, or download an application form from [creativexport.co.uk].

"The UK is a world-leader in the computer games industry," enthused Mike O'Brien, minister for trade, investment and foreign affairs, in a statement on the launch of the UK National Pavilion for E3 2004. "Many of the best-selling games in the world were developed here. E3 is one of the world's most important trade shows in this industry, and I am confident that the UK pavilion next year will demonstrate that UK games companies still lead the world in creativity, originality and innovation."
