Rollic picks up Popcore

With the new acquisition the firm continues to grow its hypercasual game library

Rollic, a Zynga subsidiary, announced that it's purchased mobile game developer Popcore.

Founded in 2018 by Thomas and Johannes Heinze, the studio has released titles such as Pull the Pin, Scavenger Hunt, and Tap Away.

With the acquisition Rollic continues to grow its hypercasual game offerings.

"Combining allows us to build more gaming experiences that emphasize meaningful, lasting engagement," said Rollic CEO Burak Vardal.

"Furthermore, our mutual user base with Popcore will represent a great combination of new players and long-term retaining users."

In terms of this year's M&A activity, Zynga and Rollic acquired mobile studio NanoTribe.

In the month of September, the gaming firm finalized its purchase of mobile platform Storemaven.
