Miniclip opens new studio in Lisbon

New office in Portugal's Taguspark can accommodate 350 staff

Mobile studio Miniclip has opened a new office in Lisbon, Portugal, with aims to further expand its presence in the country.

The new building, which is the company's fifth location, can accommodate around 350 staff. The office will also run on 100% electricity from sustainable sources.

It's located in Taguspark, a technology park which hosts several businesses.

"Miniclip has made significant investment in the games industry in Portugal since setting up its local operations in 2010 with almost doubling our workforce and these new studios demonstrate our continued growth and commitment to maintaining this investment in the region," said Miniclip COO Marius Manolache. "We can't wait to invite all of our Portugal-based Miniclippers to their amazing new home."

Last November, Miniclip passed its 20-year milestone, and spoke to GamesIndustry.biz about its early pivot from flash to mobile, and its limited delve into console development.

The company also announced a series of acquisitions in 2021; UK-based SuperSonic Software, Online Soccer Manager maker Gamebasics, and Romanian studio Green Horse Games.
