London Games Festival moves remaining events online

Business Hub and Games Finance Market will now be hosted via video calls, Ensemble exhibit to take place later this year

The organisers of the London Games Festival have announced it has moved shifted all of its key events to a digital structure in light of growing concerns around novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK.

The festival encompasses a series of events, both run by Games London and other organisations, throughout late March and April, but the main pillars of this annual games showcase have now been moved online.

The Business Hub and Games Finance Market will now be handled via a new digital meeting platform, giving participants the chance to speak with each other via video calls. These will run from Monday, March 30 to Tuesday, March 31, and more information can be found here.

Developers will still be able to pitch to investors, while experts will be available to discuss a range of topics, such as remote working tips and contingency plans to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The reveal of this year's Ensemble collection -- a celebration of BAME developers and other games professionals in the UK -- will still go ahead as planned on March 26, but the public exhibition has been postponed until later in 2020.

BAFTA has already revealed that this year's Games Awards, a partner event for the LGF, will now be a digital event, while other associated events such as Now Play This and Trafalgar Square Games Festival have been postponed.

Our own consumer games show EGX Rezzed, which was set to take place during the festival, has also been postponed until later in the year. However, our matchmaking event Meet The Indies has been shifted to an online event, due to be hosted next week.
