Ex-Codemasters CEO Frank Sagnier resurfaces at NDreams

Sagnier named non-executive chair of VR developer and publisher, will help drive towards "some very ambitious goals"

Frank Sagnier, formerly CEO of British racing specialist Codemasters, has taken on a new role at virtual reality developer and publisher NDreams.

Sagnier led the UK firm for more than seven years, taking it through a successful IPO and the $1.2bn acquisition by EA earlier this year.

He stepped down last week, as did Codemasters' chief financial officer Rashid Varachia.

Now he takes on a new role at NDreams as non-executive chair of the board, effective immediately.

NDreams has been going through its own growth this year, launching a publishing arm and a £2 million fund to bring more VR games to market, as well as opening a new fully-remote studio in NDreams Studio Orbital.

Patrick O'Luanaigh, the VR firm's CEO, welcomed Sagnier to the board and said his "wisdom, experience, passion and drive" will help NDreams as it attempts to achieve "some very ambitious goals."

Sagnier added: "I am delighted to join NDreams' board to help the company achieve its mission to become a world-leading developer and publisher of VR games.

"Over the past few years, Patrick has built a reputable studio with high quality teams delivering high quality games. The fast-improving hardware together with highly immersive and innovative players' experiences mean the VR market is bound to see significant growth and exciting times ahead."
