Unity sets date for annual conference

Unite 11 makes call for speakers as Unity Awards competition returns

Middleware creator Unity Technologies has announced its 5th Annual Developer Conference, to take place in San Francisco on September 28-30.

The Unite conference will focus on the Unity 3D development platform, widely used on Web, iOS, Android and console formats. It is open to developers, publishers, and enthusiasts with three days of activities including hands-on class tutorials and technical sessions.

A call for speakers is currently being made and will remain open until June 24. Tickets are already available for pre-sale, at a discounted cost of $340, on the official website.

The event will also host the annual Unity Awards ceremony, to honour the best of Unity-created content from around the world. However, details of the contest, prizes and submission process have not yet been announced.

"We are proud to announce the fifth annual Unite conference and look forward to welcoming our community to San Francisco this September," said Nicholas Francis, CCO of Unity Technologies. "The conference provides us with a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with our community and through technical sessions and panel talks discuss Unity and its place in the wider industry."

"Unite 10 was a great conference for the Schell Games team," said Jesse Schell, CEO of Schell Games. "Being able to hear from and talk with so many different Unity developers all in one place saved us a ton of time - it was definitely worth the trip!"
