Team17 plots £200m float

The Worms creator to become the UK's biggest third-party games publisher

UK developer and publisher Team17 is planning a £200m float on the London Stock Exchange.

The company is most famous for creating the Worms video games, but now also for publishing popular and acclaimed titles such as The Escapists, Overcooked and Yooka-Laylee. The Times reports the company has appointed stockbrokers from Berenberg and GCA Altium to work on the float.

The announcement could happen 'within days', the paper states. The news follows the £16.5 million investment made in the company by Lloyds Development Capital (part of Lloyds Banking Group) in September 2015.

Team17 operates out of two UK locations, with publishing based in Nottingham and development out of the firm's Wakefield office.

Some of Team17's titles for the year ahead include Planet Alpha, Raging Justice, Sword Legacy: Omen and Genesis Alpha One. It's recently released the well received RPG My Time At Portia.
