Report: Sony to close Zipper Interactive

SOCOM developer faces project cancellation and lay offs

Sony is refusing to comment on rumours that it plans to close SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive.

The report came from Kotaku, who said the company was facing both staff cuts and the cancellation of projects.

The company's most recent title was shooter Unit 13 for PlayStation Vita, but it also created MAG for PlayStation 3 and the SOCOM franchise.

Just 10 months earlier the studio laid off 33 staff in a move to "cut production resources."
