Raw Fury receives $125,000 from Multiplay founder

Craig Fletcher joins indie publisher as angel investor during latest seed round

Indie games publisher Raw Fury has announced a fresh injection of funding from a notable figure in the UK games industry.

Multiplay founder Craig Fletcher has become an angel investor for the firm, having pledged $125,000 towards its ongoing operations. The investment was made during a new seed round of funding for the publisher.

Back in December, Fletcher revealed he was leaving Multiplay after 20 years, although said he would "continue to support the company's esport aspirations and development of Insomnia over the months and years ahead."

He has since formed investment firm Wicked Sick, and consults with various companies such as Rocket Lolly, PlayMob, Percent and Vidsy.

In true Raw Fury style, the less-than-orthodox press release is filled with anecdotes about its newest investor, including the fact that the Multiplay team drained a local substation of power during the first Insomnia event, and that Fletcher "makes a killer full English breakfast". Just so you know.

Raw Fury's previous seed round managed to raise £600,000 and attracted Unity founder David Helgason as an investor.

In a statement, Raw Fury CEO and founder Jonas Antonsson said: "Thanks for the money, dude."
