NESTA announces Raise the Game campaign

The new initiative is designed to help the industry combat skills shortages and help small to medium companies grow

NESTA has announced it is launching a new GBP 450,000 national campaign, Raise the Game, intended to drive growth, collaboration and innovation in the UK games industry.

Raise the Game will involve a mentoring programme where business people help small developers and publishers grow their businesses. The campaign will also help small companies find and recruit new staff members as well as help them create intern placements, and its 'innovation labs' will help small to medium sized companies develop ideas for cross platform content.

"Raise the Game is seeking to provide a means by which the industry can work together and draw from the enormous amount of creative talent currently available," said NESTA's CEO, Jonathan Kestenbaum.

"This new programme will be instrumental in fostering creativity and building relationships throughout the games industry and beyond to ensure the innovation and growth capacities of UK companies are harnessed."
