Helsinki studio Reworks raises €4m

Funding round led by EQT Ventures, developer launches first title Redecor

Reworks has completed a funding round to the tune of €4 million.

The investment was led by the EQT Ventures fund, alongside Play Ventures and Huuuge Games CEO Anton Gauffin.

The funding will be used to further develop its debut game Redecor, in which players remodel and decorate photorealistic scenes from different homes. The title launches worldwide today.

Funds will also help develop the proprietary Replay 3D engine and content platform that powers the game.

Reworks was founded in 2018 by former staff from Sumoing, the studio behind popular casual colouring app Recolor.

As part of the deal, EQT Ventures' partner and investment advisor Lars Jörnow joints the Reworks board. EQT Ventures previously invested in Small Giant Games, which was later acquired by Zynga.
