Ubisoft bringing Ass Creed, Lumines to Vita

French publisher supports handheld with six games, but no release dates

Ubisoft is developing six games for the PlayStation Vita.

The French publisher intends to support Sony's handheld from the very start of its lifecycle, with Rayman: Origins, Lumines, Asphalt, Dunegeon Hunter Alliance, Michael Jackson: The Experience, and the Assassin's Creed franchise all confirmed.

"With its processing power, dual tactile screens and cameras, PS Vita allows creators like Ubisoft new and unique opportunities to develop innovative games," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in a statement.

"We've got a strong and varied line-up that will offer fun and immersion to all audiences of the PS Vita."

Price-points and launch dates have not been confirmed.

Matthew, I don't think the one you used is the best abbreviation for "Assassin" ;)

@Alfonso
Ubisoft had a mobile game advertisement in the first Assassins Creed on a sheet of paper beside the booklet. It said: SEND ASS an 14444 to receive the Assassins Creed mobile game.

Also Gamestop wrote Ass Bro (for brotherhood) at their price labels ;)

Now that's an unfortunate choice for a headline.

I'll have to admit, that headline stopped me in my tracks. Someone change it before "Ass Creed: A Porno Parody" gets made (that should take, what, three days?)

I'm curious, do you all think that all the suport and genuinely interesting games coming for the Vita will give it a chance to do well as a handheld? I am definitely thinking so. I've never been interested in handhelds before and I have no reason to take one anywhere but now I'm definitely buying this at launch.
