Edery and Cook form new studio Spry Fox

Ex-Microsoft employees collaborating on five new projects

Ex-Microsoft employees David Edery and Daniel Cook have formed a new development studio, Spry Fox.

The outfit is focused primarily on the business and design aspects of game development, according to the duo, who plan to partner with other individuals on forthcoming projects.

"Spry Fox functions somewhat like a modern movie studio - we form teams around a project that everyone is passionate about, and the team disbands when the project is done - or, in the case of a free-to-play game, when the project stops generating revenue," detailed Edery. "We work together on what we love, and we part ways when our interests diverge."

Edery was previously Worldwide Games portfolio manager for Xbox Live and Cook a game designer at Microsoft Game Studios.

Working on free-to-play and digital titles, the team has a number of projects already in the works, including a multiplayer version of Steambirds with Armor Games, a new version of Andre Spiering's Bunni Social, two downloadable titles and a Flash MMO.
