Apptopia: Brawl Stars brings in $5.1 million in its first week

For comparison, Clash Royale brought in $22 million in its comparable period

Last week, Supercell launched its fifth game ever - Brawl Stars. The Clash of Clans creator's foray into multiplayer battle arenas has already seen a strong start after a year and a half in soft launch in certain regions.

Apptopia reports that the game brought in $5.1 million in revenue from in-app purchases during its first week and has been downloaded 9.5 million times.

That's a hefty chunk of revenue, though it's not as impressive when placed in the shadow of Clash Royale. Though it's a very different genre of game, Clash Royale had seen around 13 million downloads over the same period following its launch, and had brought in $22 million in revenue.

Still, that's comparing Brawl Stars to an extraordinary example. Supercell's arena brawler is currently ranked #1 overall on the App Store in 53 countries and in 47 on Google Play and its revenue continues to climb.
