Zynga launches Game Cards in Middle East

Partnering with Gate2Play to reach 16 countries

Zynga has partnered with Jordanian payment platform Gate2Play to distribute Game Cards in 16 countries across the Middle East and Africa.

“The pace at which the Middle East’s social gaming market is growing represents a significant opportunity for both Gate2Play and Zynga,” Muhannad Ebwini, chief executive of Gate2Play, said.

The cards are available in $2, $5 and $10 values, and allows players to purchase items in Zynga games like FarmVille and CityVille. Ebwini also explained that many players in the Middle East and Africa don't use credit cards, so prefer pre paid cards or SMS payments.

Some of the countries that will receive the cards include Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the UAE, and Yemen.
