Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space

Weird Worlds: The Single available to download for free in MP3 form.

News Release: For Immediate Release

Hampstead, NC, 23 October 2008

Earth has been saved by Digital Eel.

On a brisk October night the sky spat fire, and from that fire was born a strange metallic object which then came to rest in a Washington forest. Two figures emerged from the object: a towering humanoid robot and a rather average looking man. This average looking man then proclaimed, "People of Earth, hear me now! We have traveled from far beyond, drawn to your blue speck by the amazing aural experience that the release of the Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space soundtrack provided. But now we want more! Provide us with more pleasing sounds from this bewitching digital entertainment experience or my robot shall destroy you all!" With that a ray blasted from the robot's visor, transforming a large pine tree to ash.

Unfortunately since they landed in a forest, and not someplace populated, no one was around to witness their threat. Eventually they did find an audience, and thanks to the giant robot that shot out heat rays, managed to get the audience to listen.

Once the news filtered back to the Digital Eel Tower Of Power the trio sprang into action, crafting a brand new single from Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space. Pleased, the aliens did not lay waste to our world.

Now you can experience the music that saved a planet! Available for immediate download, Weird Worlds: The Single is 4 MB's worth of toe-tapping, groovalicious, outer space rockin' taken from the only game that promises a universe worth of action in under thirty minutes.

Weird Worlds: The Single is totally free to grab and free to share. It's a standard MP3 file playing at 44100Hz stereo/192Kbps. Download it at Shrapnel Games, publisher of Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space here:

You'll also find the official soundtrack (including bonus tracks that were not featured in the final game) and the fan made tune, The Mantle of Babulon, on the same page. And if for some reason you have yet to experience the award-winning (including the IGF 2006 Innovation In Audio Award) game itself you'll also find a demo for your downloading pleasure in either Windows or Mac format.

Gamers will also be pleased to know that the highly anticipated board game Eat Electric Death! from Digital Eel and publisher Shrapnel Games is getting closer to release! Unfortunately delayed from earlier this year, a final printing timeline is being verified and once we have hard numbers we'll announce the expected ship date. We appreciate everyone's patience and look forward to getting the game into your hands. You're going to love it!

Eat Electric Death! is a tactical starship combat game set in the Infinite Space universe of Weird Worlds. Like the computer game that it arises from, Eat Electric Death! shares the same basic philosophy of simple-not simplistic-gameplay mixed with an open-ending range of possibilities. Eat Electric Death! isn't meant to turn you into an astrophysicist, it's all about slinging dice, cackling with glee as your opponent's ships explode in balls of plasma, and having a good time around the table.
