Ubisoft working on Child of Light show, Werewolves Within film

Recipients of first annual Women's Film and Television Fellowship begin writing their projects

Ubisoft is currently working on scripts for two productions based on its IPs, Child of Light and Werewolves Within, as a part of the company's Women's Film and Television Fellowship.

The first, a Child of Light live-action television adaptation, is being written by Tasha Huo.

"There are so many stories you could find in their library," Huo said in an interview with Variety. "There were other genres that did interest me, but my wish was to adapt 'Child of Light.'

"We love that the game centers around Aurora discovering strength. I love video games and I'm passionate about them, but you want people who have never heard of these games to fall in love with them."

A film based on Werewolves Within will be written by the fellowship's other first recipient, Mishna Wolff. The fellowship is a six-month-long paid program that allows recipients to select an IP from Ubisoft's catalog and adapt it into either a television show or a film. The second annual application round will open on November 1.
