Ubisoft becomes biggest third-party Kinect publisher in US

"This is only the beginning for us" - Detoc

French publisher Ubisoft has declared itself the best-selling publisher on Kinect during 2010, outside of Microsoft itself.

While figures were not revealed, the publisher's North American boss Laurent Detoc stated ahead of last night's NPD results that "We believed in the potential of Kinect from the start and we set out to be the leading third-party publisher. It worked.

"But this is only the beginning for us. We'll be bringing some of the industry's most innovative offerings to Kinect soon, starting with Michael Jackson: The Experience, Child of Eden and others. We will have something for everyone."

The publisher has released three Kinect titles to date, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, MotionSports and Fighters Uncaged. However, last month's NPD results suggested that Harmonix title Dance Central was the motion camera's overall best-seller during its launch month.

Ubisoft is particularly looking to Michael Jackson: The Experience, having already sold 2 million copies on Wii, DS and PSP.
