Twitch promotes Pride Month, raises money for Human Rights Campaign

Throughout June, Twitch will spotlight LGBTQ+ creators and celebrate diversity across its platform

To celebrate Pride Month, Twitch is hosting multiple campaigns throughout June to promote diversity and inclusivity on its platform. The promotion ranges from thematic emotes for use in chat to fundraising for the Human Rights Campaign.

"Our community is strongest and our creators make the best content when everyone on Twitch feels like they belong and can be themselves," said Twitch community campaign manager Brittany Brown. "Since diversity and inclusivity are core principles of Twitch, we have planned an entire month of events and fundraisers dedicated to promoting and maintaining these values."

Chief among those events is an LGBTQ+ creator spotlight on Twitch's front page every day during the month, as well as a shirt sale for the Human Rights Campaign. 100% of the profits from four shirts (showcasing LGBT flags) will be donated to the organization, which is the largest civil rights organization focused on LGBT groups and issues in the United States. Twitch content creators can also establish their own fundraisers for HRC through Tiltify.

Other events include four new global emotes for use in Twitch chat, a new Cheermote, and a video sharing LGBTQ+ Twitch staff stories through a partnership with It Gets Better.
