Tripwire Interactive opens a publishing division

Maneater and Road Redemption will be the first games published on the new label

Tripwire Interactive is the latest developer to start its own publishing label, one that promises a, "truly collaborative publishing model."

In a statement released yesterday, Tripwire said it will use the experience gained through publishing the Killing Floor and Rising Storm franchises to help indie studios release games on multiple platforms. Together, Killing Floor and Rising Storm have sold more than 12 million units.

Each deal will be structured according to the needs of the partner, and could include funding, marketing and help with development and production.

Tripwire's publishing division will be led by John Gibson, who is also president of the company overall. He said the emphasis would be on striking, "the type of fair deals that we like to get, where both developer and publisher succeed together."

The first third-party games published by Tripwire will be Blindside Studios' shark-themed Maneater, and Road Redemption, a co-production between EQ Games and Pixel Dash Studios.

Tripwire Interactive has grown to more than 80 staff since it launched in 2005, and the formation of the publishing division will see it grow further still.
