The Scottish Games Industry

Committee report on Monday morning.

The House of Commons Scottish Affairs Committee is launching its report on the video games industry in Scotland at the University of Abertay Dundee, an international centre of excellence for computer games education.

Embargoed copies of the report will be available to the media from 9am on the day, the briefing will start at 10am and the report is published at 11am.

Committee members will talk about the key findings in the report and will be available for media interviews.

The purpose of the Committee's inquiry was to examine the potential impact on Scotland's video games industry of the announcement by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to abolish tax relief for this sector, and to examine alternative financial incentives for the industry.

The Committee held oral evidence sessions on 13 and 20 October 2010, and travelled to Dundee to visit the University of Abertay and two video games studios, and met industry representatives.
