The New World Of Video Games Has Arrived; Visit GameTap At The National Show's Cable Game Arena

GameTap to show off games, original programming, celebrities and more at cable confab

ATLANTA - April 9, 2006 - GameTap, the first-of-its-kind broadband entertainment and video game network from Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.), will take center stage at the NCTA's Cable Game Arena at The National Show in Atlanta, April 9-11. As the Game Arena's premiere sponsor, GameTap will keep the action going throughout the show in the "center ring" with tournaments, prizes and special guest appearances by such beloved characters as Sonic and Knuckles.

Inside the 7,000-square foot Cable Game Arena, visitors will enjoy hands-on experience with more than 25 of the 400+ games now available on GameTap and enjoy original GameTap TV programming at 40 experiential kiosks in the Game Arena and throughout the exhibit floor. Among the original GameTap TV shows to be featured are "Space Ghost Coast To Coast," with Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak and Pong creator Al Alcorn in the hot seat, "Tomb Raider Outtakes," "Splinter Cell Trailer," and a dozen others. Among the games playable on GameTap during the show are Galaga, Hydro Thunder, Prince of Persia, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Fighter 2 and Pac-Man.

Visitors will also be able to "go large" by playing GameTap titles on giant, 10-foot plasma screens powered by the new Intel Viiv technology. GameTap tournaments featuring three popular games - Pac Man, Hydro Thunder, and Sonic and Knuckles - will be played out on multiple giant screens, with top-scoring gamers taking home prize packages daily.

About GameTap

GameTap delivers hundreds of the greatest games-on-demand plus original programming via a broadband-connected PC. To access GameTap, players securely download and install Turner-developed client software from www.gametap.com that acts as a gateway to the GameTap vault. Because games reside securely on the PC, not across a network, they act just as if they were still on the console or at the arcade. Fast response times, 3D effects, colors, and characters are all present and accounted for. New games and original programming will be added to the service each week. GameTap supports navigation and game play using keyboard and mouse, as well as most USB peripherals.
