Telltale undergoing liquidation, removing games from Steam

Back to the Future, Tales of Monkey Island de-listed, employee health benefits set to end soon

In the wake of Telltale's "majority studio closure" that saw over 250 laid off in part due to a failed finance round, it appears Telltale Games is at last taking its final steps toward total closure.

GameDaily reports that a company called Sherwood Partners is currently handling the liquiditation of Telltale Games. Sherwood has reached out to anyone who may have a claim against Telltale, asking them to provide documentation of the claim before April 9, 2019.

In addition, GameDaily acquired a copy of a document signed by Telltale CEO Pete Hawley that shows COBRA health benefits for the company's employees will terminate on November 30, 2018.

Finally, a number of sources have noted that some of Telltale's game catalog has been removed from Steam today, including games such as Back to the Future and Tales of Monkey Island. At the time of this post, more popular titles such as Telltale's Batman series, The Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy, Minecraft: Story Moe, and Game of Thrones remain available for purchase.
