Telcogames signs Nokia distribution deal

Telcogames has signed an agreement to distribute its catalogue of games for mobile handsets using the new Preminet Solution from Finnish phone giant Nokia.

Telcogames has signed an agreement to distribute its catalogue of games for mobile handsets using the new Preminet Solution from Finnish phone giant Nokia.

Preminet is an end-to-end global sales channel that will make Telcogames' content available to consumers who own Symbian OS and Java-enabled handsets. Telcogames' portfolio currently includes more than 800 titles from 75 different mobile content developers and publishers.

"Nokia's Preminet solution offers a unique and valuable new channel to the consumer, based around Nokia's position as a trusted brand and provider in the mobile world," said Telcogames CEO Jamie Conyngham.

"By joining Preminet we are adding a very flexible and comprehensive new channel to our global distribution network."

There are now over 350 million Java phones in the global market place, and Symbian OS is used to run more than two-thirds of all smartphones. Analysts at Ovum predict that annual shipments of Symbian OS phones will top 100 million per year within three years, with the number of Java phones in use topping 1.5 billion.
