14/07/06 - As the UK heats up for the summer, Future's Xbox World 360 delivers an exclusive 68-page book with an extract from the games business's most controversial book ever and brings gamers the first review of highly-anticipated first person shooter, Prey.
The August issue of Xbox World 360 covermounts an exclusive abridged version of the forthcoming book from Dean Takahashi; The Xbox 360 Uncloaked. The controversial book promises the real story behind Microsoft's next-generation video game console. The excerpt includes insider details on the development of Halo 3 and Microsoft's often-rumoured plans for an Xbox handheld.
With 2K Games' Prey grabbing the cover, the game also features in a 6-page review, which delivers the definitive verdict on the weirdest and most talked about Xbox 360 title of the year. Gamers can save £5 on Prey at Currys.Digital stores, thanks to an exclusive money-off voucher. Xbox World 360 also has the first details on Lost: The Game, as well as the latest news on Halo 3, Bioshock, Gears of War, Grand Theft Auto 4 and the long-awaited Pro Evolution Soccer 360. Xbox World 360 also plays and rates the biggest games of the summer; Saints Row, Splinter Cell 4, Mass Effect and Test Drive Unlimited.
The covermounted DVD is Xbox World 360's biggest and best yet - a double-sided beast featuring 57 Xbox 360 games and almost five hours of action, including the latest Halo 3 trailer in high definition. The team goes behind-the-scenes with Gears of War and Splinter Cell: Double Agent and shows gamers how to master Rockstar's Table Tennis with exclusive video tips.
Tim Weaver is Editor of Xbox World 360:
"The games industry is in its annual summer break, but Xbox World 360 has delivered its strongest issue yet, with the biggest ever DVD, the UK's first review of Prey and an excerpt of the best gaming book for a long time. Dean's book is essential reading for gaming diehards and blows the lid clean-off the myths and rumours surrounding the launch of the Xbox 360 and the secretive inner-circle at Microsoft."
