Submissions Now Open For The 11th Interactive Achievement Awards Streaming Live On Gamespot

MEDIA ALERT

WHO: The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has just opened submissions for the 2008 IAA's, which will be held on February 7th at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas. The AIAS is a non-profit member organization for the videogame industry that recognizes outstanding achievements in and contributions to interactive entertainment and game development. This year marks the first time that consumers will be able to view the awards, as the Academy's partner Gamespot will be streaming the Awards live from Las Vegas.

WHAT: The 11th Annual Awards recognizes the publishers, developers and artists whose work underlies the industry. Peer Panelists for the genre and craft categories are Creative Technical and Active Business members of the Academy who evaluate/play the hundreds of games nominated, and vote for the best in each category. The entire Academy membership, which numbers 12,000, has the ability to vote for the five Game of the Year categories. This year the awards will have an interactive sweepstakes component on GameSpot to be announced closer to the event.
