Square Enix confirms European identity

Post-Eidos acquisition phase completed following goals set out in July

Square Enix has announced that it has completed its business reorganization following the acquisition of Eidos, and confirmed its European presence identity as Square Enix Europe.

That unit, which will operate out of the existing former Eidos office in Wimbledon, London, will look after the sales and marketing offices in the UK, France and Germany.

That also includes as a host of development studios - including Crystal Dynamics, IO Interactive, Beautiful Game Studios, Square Enix London Studios and Eidos Montreal, while the specific UK company brand will be known as Square Enix.

"Today marks a major achievement towards the goals we announced in July and represents the creation of an efficient and powerful structure for game development and publishing," said Phil Rogers, president and CEO of Square Enix Europe. "We have a formidable product-line up which truly showcases the diversity of our exceptional gaming brands."

GamesIndustry.biz spoke recently to the company's global president, Yoichi Wada, and that interview is available in parts one and two.
