Just in time for the joyful mood of the Christmas season, MTV Networks North and German-based developer lbxgames have released the first independently produced application for the iPhone and iPod touch.

SpongeBob Jellyfish Jam is an application for the iPhone and iPod touch which consists of three fully-fledged mini-games: "Bubble Bongos", "Jellyfish Groove" and "Let’s Rock!". Players dive into the world of Bikini Bottom and groove their way through the exciting and varied levels of the three mini-games, which help to train players' musical abilities as well as their sense of rhythm and reaction in a playful way. Player gain points in "Bubble Bongos" for making bubbles burst in a rhythmic way. "Jellyfish Groove" challenges players to play back a melody on mussels. "Let's Rock!" and “Bubble Bongos” challenge the right sense of rhythm by playing the burgers or bubbles in time. Players can gauge their skills against friends and other SpongeBob fans all over the world by posting their high scores on Facebook.

The game is available in English, German, Spanish, Italian and French. The game will soon be released in over 50 regions including Australia, Japan, China, Spain and Latin America.
