Space, race and chase as Xplosiv invades retail this Christmas

London, 8th October 2004 - Xplosiv, the value games label from Empire Interactive, has announced its Christmas new releases on PC, which will be tied into its Christmas promotion to make the most of the peak games season.

Following the huge success of its PS2 release earlier this year, Space Invaders Anniversary now comes to PC, offering nine different versions of the classic that started an industry.

Sonic & Knuckles Collection, featuring Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Sonic 3 And Knuckles, plus the Sonic screensaver comes to the range following the immense success of Sonic 3D which has sold over ½ million units under the Xplosiv label.

Starsky & Hutch has enjoyed success on PS2 and will now be available on the PC Xplosiv label - a perfect partner for the TV series and movie DVD releases.

Xplosiv continues with the republishing of Microsoft's popular Mechwarrior series with Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance and Mechwarrior 4: Black Knight in a single package at £9.99. Also originally published by Microsoft is Impossible Creatures (£9.99), the real time strategy game of genetic manipulation and combat. The roster of titles to be released in November is completed by Rallisport Challenge, at just £4.99, the highly-rated rally driving game, which Gamespot called "an excellent game ... wholeheartedly recommended".

All of the new releases will also feature in Xplosiv's Christmas campaign, with a free game CD in every pack in the run up to Christmas.

"This is a great line-up for Christmas," says Joanne Fawell, European Product Manager at Xplosiv. "Titles like Space Invaders Anniversary and the Sonic games have broad appeal across all ages and with the other titles there is plenty of variety and high quality gaming. Under our £4.99 and £9.99 price points they really are unbeatable value for money - especially in the Christmas limited edition form, with an extra game included for free."

Xplosiv will release all six titles on November 5th on PC CD-ROM. The special edition Christmas packs, with an extra free game, will be available until December 31, 2004.
