Some Best Buy copies of Starlink are missing the game itself

Several people report receiving starter packs with all pieces except the game

Starlink: Battle for Atlas launched on Monday, and everyone who purchased the physical edition of the game was meant to have received a package with a number of the game's toys-to-life figurines inside, along with the game. But according to some reports, in many cases, the game itself was missing.

In a number of posts across ResetEra, Reddit, and elsewhere on social media, a number of people have reported ordering Starlink: Battle for Atlas from Best Buy and receiving a box that was either already open or not taped shut, from which the game case and cartridge were missing. In these reported cases, all other figurines were still in the package.

Polygon reports that some of these people have managed to exchange their incomplete packages for ones with the full game included, though some versions are selling out online.

Ubisoft has told Polygon that they are aware of the issue and are investigating.

"We've been made aware that a small amount of Starlink: Battle for Atlas Starter Packs have been shipped without a copy of the disc and/or cartridge included," the statement reads. "We are currently investigating the scope of this issue and potential solutions. In the meantime, if anyone's been affected by this issue, please tell them contact Ubisoft customer service at support.ubi.com and they will provide assistance."
