Schrödinger’s Rat

An announcement that, until you click on it, both exists and doesn't exist.

MIDLOTHIAN, VA – December 2, 2009 - Leading videogame publisher, SouthPeak Interactive Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: SOPK), announced today its expansion into the iPhone and iPod touch market with Schrödinger’s Rat available for download this December on iTunes. A labyrinth adventure with a quantum twist inspired by the famous Schrödinger’s Cat experiment, players control chalk balls with a tilt of their mobile device through obstacle-laced mazes to re-animate rats who have given their lives in the name of science.

"Getting into the mobile marketplace is a natural evolution for us," said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak. "The market for downloadable apps and games is huge and SouthPeak will stand out by offering the highest caliber of titles. Schrödinger’s Rat is a perfect example of a simple game-play mechanic with an immense amount of depth, making it a tremendously entertaining and educational value for any consumer."

Developed and designed by FORMation, Schrödinger’s Rat takes place in the confines of a scientific laboratory, where a rodent-scientist named Paradox is testing his Retrograpy Atomic Teleporter (R.A.T.). Players must test all 117 elements of the periodic table by rolling through the corresponding mazes, discovering which re-animates the most rats. They’ll earn merits by completing families of elements, and advanced players will also be given the opportunity to unlock special Rare Element Series of the periodic table. Standing in the way of progress are anti-gravity fur balls (produced personally by the Schrödinger’s cat), unstable maze walls and dead ends.

SouthPeak continues to cultivate captivating titles for all major hardware platforms including PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii™ and portable game devices such as the PSP®(PlayStation®Portable) systems and Nintendo DS™. The entry into the iPhone and iPod touch marketplace continues a streak of strong mobile game development for SouthPeak and introduces new game functionalities through the touch screen and gyroscopic abilities of the device.

The epic adventures of Schrödinger’s Rat will be available for download on iTunes this December for a special introductory price of $.99 (59p in the UK and €0.79 in Europe).
