Berlin, 2009-01-22: With the turn of the year, numerous pieces of new furniture and decorative items for player housing were added to the fantasy world of Runes of Magic. Publisher Frogster is now using this occasion to challenge Taborea’s creative amateur interior designers in an exciting competition with a twist. Every active player with character level 10 that signs up for the contest at http://www.runesofmagic.com/en/taborea_living.html before the ‘event’ ends on the 2nd of February will receive a magnificent two-story house to permanently reside in. Those who send in a screenshot of their homey domicile also have a chance to win a brand new Gainward GF 9800 GTX+ graphics card, virtual war horses and fan T-Shirts.
Besides the player’s house, Frogster has re-worked the item shop in Runes of Magic. After updating their game software with a new patch, players can now spend in-game coins in the online store. Investing their in game money players are now able to acquire helpful potions, mounts or teleports without using real currency. Moreover, the update integrates the new instance “Cyclops Stronghold“ and the event “Flower Festival” for Valentine's Day.
In Runes of Magic, players can start furnishing their house at Level 1. For this, a broad range of items is available – ranging from decorative interactive weapon racks, fireplaces and candle holders to more practical furniture like treasure chests that can store items, mannequins to display spare armour or anvils for crafting. Players can also give their unique house code to friends to invite them over for a viewing.
Runes of Magic started the open beta with an English and a German version in the middle of December 2008. All interested players can now download the online-role playing game and enter into the fantasy world after creating an account for free on www.runesofmagic.com.
Runes of Magic – a world full of wizardry and adventure
With an extensive range of features Runes of Magic prepares to redefine the standard of free2play MMO games. Runes of Magic conveys an absorbing story through more than 1.000 quests embedded in an atmospheric fantasy setting. Players can choose between six main classes and combined with a secondary class they present 30 individual combinations of character classes over all. All characters possess unique skills with impressive combo attacks and can use mounts like war horses and more. A particularly attractive feature for guilds and players is the possibility to arrange their own virtual homes with individual furnishing. Thanks to an extensive crafting and reputation system, thrilling PVP, as well as demanding dungeons and boss-monsters, no wishes remain unsatisfied. The Taiwanese developer Runewaker has developed Runes of Magic according to western MMO standards within a time frame of three years. The studio will provide new challenges for players every three to four months with free add-ons and updates.
