RuneFest 2010

Jagex founders Andrew and Paul Gower among speakers at August's RuneScape event.

Wednesday 28th April/... Jagex Games Studio, the UK’s largest independent games company, today announced the exciting Insider Sessions for the UK’s biggest ever player event for RuneScape players – RuneFest 2010. RuneFest 2010 will be the first ever real-world player event of its size in the UK or for the company. The Insider Sessions will be held in three arenas with a packed schedule of speakers including talks from Jagex Founders, Andrew and Paul Gower, and Jagex CEO, Mark Gerhard.

For players attending RuneFest 2010 the most important feature of the Insider Sessions will be the inclusion of some session slots presented by them! - A competition is now open for submissions for session ideas and concepts and is open to any and all RuneScape players and anyone attending the event. Winning players will experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to speak about their passion to an audience of Jagex employees, other players and the makers of RuneScape, including Andrew Gower himself.

Head of RuneScape Christoph Vietzke said “We are so glad that we finally have the chance to meet our most dedicated players face-to-face. We are incredibly excited about this opportunity and are confident that our tour behind the scenes of RuneScape is what every dedicated RuneScaper wants to see.”

Along with these amazing player sessions there will be three arenas hosting sessions with a packed schedule of speakers including talks from Lead Developer and co-founder of Jagex; Andrew Gower and Jagex CEO; Mark Gerhard, as well as Content Developer and co-founder of Jagex, Paul Gower and Lead Designer on RuneScape; Mark Ogilvie. These amazing sessions will, for many RuneScape fans, offer a one-off opportunity to hear the key figures at Jagex speak and share secrets about the making of RuneScape first-hand.

The Insider Sessions will be one of the amazing features the attendees will be privy to, along with a packed schedule of events and features, including: themed areas for players to experience real world activities such as live role playing, ogre wrestling and archery skills, to name but a few; exclusive gameplay experience onsite that will be like nothing experienced before or outside the RuneFest walls and surprise daily events that will thrill and excite anyone in attendance.

All RuneScape player session ideas for the Insider Sessions will be considered; from presentations to demonstrations and from question and answer sessions to games and panel sessions. If you have an idea, RuneFest 2010 want to hear about it.

All Insider Session concepts should be uploaded to www.runefest.com, where further details on the session outlines, ideas and guidelines can be found.

Tickets for this event will go on sale later this month, although players are encouraged to register as soon as possible for pre-sale tickets, which will be available 24-hours before the main lines open to the public, in order to cope with the expected demand.

Pre-registration opens today at www.runefest.com.
