Riot Games reveals new publishing label, Riot Forge

Riot Forge to work with outside studios to create new games in the League of Legends universe

Riot Games today revealed that it is getting into game publishing with outside studios via a new publishing label: Riot Forge.

Per the company website, the label's goal will be to partner with experienced studios outside Riot Games to "create bespoke 'completable' League of Legends games." The games will expand the League of Legends universe beyond its current offerings, which are limited to League of Legends itself, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra.

Riot Forge will provide QA, localization, voiceovers, research, marketing, and other kinds of support to its partners, and is currently looking for new studios to work with. However, it already has at least one project in the works, which will be announced next week at The Game Awards.

Riot Games has been busy expanding its offerings in the last year. Both Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra were announced as standalone titles back in October alongside MOBA adaptation Wild Rift and three other untitled projects. These included a fighting game, a tactical shooter, and a third game that wasn't detailed.
