Riot Games launching Russian version of League of Legends

CEO claims it is responding to rising consumer demand

Riot Games is planning to launch a fully localised version of its hit free-to-play game League of Legends for Russian speaking players.

Russian is the sixth language in which League of Legends has been made available - in addition to English, French, German, Spanish and Polish - and it will receive dedicated servers and support.

"We've listened carefully to the rising volume of voices asking for League of Legends in Russia," said Riot Games CEO Brandon Beck.

"We are looking forward to delivering fully localised service and support, and we are optimistic that the passionate community of Russian speaking PC gamers will embrace League of Legends."

League of Legends is Riot Games debut project. It has been downloaded more than 30 million times since it launched in October 2009.
