League Of Legends hits 30 million players

Riot Games' online hit continues to expand player numbers

Riot Games' League Of Legends now has 30 million registered players globally, and has revealed that more than four million play the game every day.

That translates to about 11.5 million monthly active users, with a peak of 1.3 million concurrent players.

The new figures represent a doubling in the community size since July this year.

"It's staggering to think about the fact that over a billion games of League of Legends have been played since launch," said president Marc Merrill.

"In 2012, we intend to deliver even more for our growing audience."

In July Riot Games announced the appointment of Christina Norman, formerly of Bioware, to its game design team.
