Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches French Version Now Available

Wales-based independent developer of PC adventure games Arberth Studios announces that the French language version of its successful 'Rhiannon:

Curse of the Four Branches' is now available. Entitled 'Rhiannon: La Malédiction des Quatre Branches', the game enters the Arberth product portfolio alongside the English, German and Russian localisations. The game can be downloaded from http://www.arberthstudios.com/francais.html at an introductory price of Eur19.99.

Comments Arberth spokesman Noel Bruton, "We're delighted with this launch.

It was made possible by the efforts of a group of talented gamers in France and Belgium, who call themselves 'Les Rhemystes'. They played the English version of 'Rhiannon' and enjoyed it so much, they asked if they could translate it for us. At the time, our European publisher had just collapsed, wrecking any plans for a French version - so we leapt at the opportunity."

Although these are gamers rather than professional translators, nothing has been lost in the quality of the result. Bruton salutes how the players' love of 'Rhiannon' has shone through in their work.

"Les Rhemystes have been great. Although it takes place in the modern day, Rhiannon's complex story begins in the Welsh pre-Christian era and visits Edwardian industrialism and the 1960's 'Summer of Love'. Each of these times has left texts and artefacts. Les Rhemystes understood the syntactical subtleties of the demands of this chronological complexity and have translated them beautifully. Their enthusiasm and skill have rendered the story exactly as we wanted to tell it. And because it's download only, you can get it from anywhere in the world as fast as your Internet connection can carry it."

All texts in the first-person mystery adventure are fully localised and the few spoken parts are subtitled. A French-language manual is included in PDF format.

Game Features:

• Set in present day, the plot draws from ancient myths and legends

• Explore the eerie Welsh farmstead, from the imposing house to its

extensive grounds and buildings

• First-person point-and-click with approximately 20 to 30 hours of largely

non-linear gameplay

• Involved multi-threaded plot

• Features classic themes such as; magic, paranormal phenomena, and

technological gadgets

• Interact with a comprehensive inventory of nearly 200 items

• 1024x768 full-screen graphics

• Engaging and unusual challenges, mostly plot and inventory driven

• A haunting musical score

• Solid chapter structure to the compelling and ultimately uplifting story
