Resident Evil 2 remake surpasses five million sales

Franchise lifetime sales at 94 million

The critically acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 2 has sold five million units since launching in January this year.

Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil 2 was awarded Game of the Year at the UK Golden Joysticks.

Following the success of Resident Evil 2, Capcom revealed this week that Resident Evil 3: Nemesis would be receiving similar remake treatment, scheduled for release on April 3, 2020.

The title will also include Resident Evil Resistance, an asymmetric online mode unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2019.

Since first appearing in 1996, lifetime sales of the Resident Evil franchise sit at 94 million according to Capcom.
