Rainer Markussen appointment

Former Computer Bild man joins Gamigo AG's board.

Hamburg, 1st October 2009 - The supervisory board of Gamigo AG has appointed Rainer Markussen, 41, as member of the executive board with immediate effect; he succeeds Sven Ossenbrüggen, 40. Having been a member of the board since March 2007 and successfully repositioning gamigo as an online gaming provider, Ossenbrüggen will now devote himself to new professional challenges. Markussen joins from the COMPUTER BILD Group, having led the group since April 2008 as Managing Director and leading a successful push into digital activities. This had a powerful and positive impact on the development of the group, responsible for the leading titles in the European computing and PC gaming segment. Patrick Streppel remains member of the executive board, responsible for product management and marketing.

Dr. Bodo Thielmann, chairman of the Gamigo supervisory board: “Not least due to his successful experience with the COMPUTER BILD Group, Rainer Markussen brings the ideal skill set to gamigo’s board. He has both considerable management expertise as well as substantial knowledge of, and contacts in, the gaming market. To Sven Ossenbrüggen, we are ever grateful. Over the nearly three years he’s worked with us, he led Gamigo’s strategic, structural and product realignment – bringing gamigo to sustainable profitability. Gamigo operates in a dynamic and rapidly growing market segment, with its revenues growing by a triple-digit percentage this year. We wish him continued success in his future projects.”

Sven Ossenbrüggen on his motives for leaving: "I feel that Gamigo’s structure has been fully built out and the company is now perfectly positioned in its very dynamic market. Anyone who knows me knows that after such a success, I’d always be on the lookout for new challenges. I believe Rainer Markussen is the perfect choice as my successor, and I am pleased that he’s taking the helm. I’d also like to thank all my colleagues at Gamigo for their great work, too.”

Ossenbrüggen joined gamigo in 2007 from the private investment firm BMP AG. He led Gamigo to profitability, through restructuring and introducing the online gaming provider to new product segments and markets across Europe. Gamigo is positioned for further growth and plans to continue expanding as one of the leading European MMOG publishers.
