PS3 Brink still due for release this week

Despite PSN blackout, multiplayer-focused game won't be delayed

Bethesda has said that it still plans to release multiplayer shooter Brink on the PlayStation 3 this Friday, despite the PlayStation Network being offline.

The game does include single player features but is mainly focused on online multiplayer, and has been developed by Splash Damage, the team behind acclaimed title Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

"We're still going ahead with launch this week," a Bethesda spokesperson told our sister site Eurogamer.net.

The PSN downtime is crippling Sony's online business as it nears three weeks offline. Capcom has said that it is loosing "hundreds of thousands" of dollars in sales due to the crisis.

Brink is also released on Xbox 360 and PC.
