Community management system adds support for Windows 7 and DirectX 10.

SANDPOINT, ID – September 9, 2009 -- PlayXpert, the provider of next-generation in-game community management tools, today announced support for Windows® 7 32-bit and 64-bit operating system environments. Support for Windows 7 is complemented by support for Vista 32-bit and 64-bit as well as Windows XP and 2000. In addition, PlayXpert has announced support for Native DX10 games within its overlay subsystem.

The new support allows games to be played to their full potential while also unleashing the power of third party overlay widgets that bring communication and tools to gamers. The PlayXpert in-game operating system works across any PC game that uses DirectX 8, 9, or 10. Combining the PlayXpert in-game overlay platform with its extensible widget architecture, PlayXpert is poised to be a standard overlay system for players because it brings together the tools that players use – and overlays them into the games that they play.

“Over half of our user community has already upgraded to 64-bit Vista and we’re already seeing early adoption to Windows 7,” said Charles Manning, CEO of PlayXpert. “There are significant advancements in DX10 that most game studios are already taking advantage of. Because our TrueOverlay system works at the lowest level of DX, our technology is the only solution that can provide in-game overlay on native DX10 games today.”

Among various firsts for the company, PlayXpert is the first and only company to provide in-game overlay at the command stream level of DirectX. This innovation means that users don’t have frame-rate impacts when using the PlayXpert system and it offers universal cross-game support. PlayXpert is now also the first and only company to natively support DX10. Unlike other in-game overlay tools, PlayXpert will not require users to downgrade their runtime configuration for their favorite DX10 games to play in DX9.
