Overclocked: New Screenshots reveal more of Psycho-Thriller Adventure Game

dtp/ANACONDA press release for December 20, 2006

Hamburg, Germany: December 19, 2006 - Three new screenshots shed light on the upcoming psychological thriller Overclocked from ANACONDA and House of Tales: The classic point & click adventure game breaks new ground in order to tell an extraordinary story revolving around psychiatrist David McNamara and five young patients.

One of the screenshots (Overclocked0025.JPG), taken from the game's introductory cutscene, shows how McNamara and his patients are cast together. The five young men and women are found barely clothed, the apparent victim of a traumatic act of violence, in the rain-drenched streets of New York City.

McNamara is called to help as an expert psychiatrist. At the Staten Island Forensic Hospital he is tasked with treating the young patients - who all suffer from severe amnesia. Dave begins to carefully probe their memory, trying to reveal their obscured past.

The innovative story-telling approach of Overclocked sees the player take on the role of the patients as they are questioned, playing and exploring their memories one by one. In reverse chronology, the player makes his way through the shards of their past and experiences frightening events that seem incoherent at first. The insights gained can then used back in the role of Dave McNamara to piece together the interconnections between the victims and open up new lines of questioning.

In the role of McNamara, the player also explores present day New York. He regularly meets NYPD specialist Moretti in a bar close to his hotel (Overclocked0026.JPG), consulting him about the mysterious case.

Moretti is investigating the case of the five disoriented victims for the police and McNamara discusses the particulars of his investigation, as well as his personal and professional issues, with him.

The bald-headed, somewhat dubious Steve Ryker, a regular at the bar, will also play a certain role in the course of Overclocked's story

Overclocked combines the virtues of highly detailed, pre-rendered backgrounds with a dynamic camera. Cinematic camera movements, panning, zooms and close-ups, together with motion capturing, facial animations, 3D characters, real-time post-processing effects and real-time light/shadows guarantee for the adventure game's exceptional graphics.

ANACONDA will release the new game by House of Tales, the makers of The Moment of Silence, worldwide in summer 2007.
