Odyssey Interactive secures $19m in Series A funding round

The studio founded by former Riot Games talent also aims to release its first game in February 2023

Independent games studio Odyssey Interactive has raised $19 million in a Series A funding round.

The round was led by Makers Fund, while Anthos Capital, Andreesen Horowitz, and Mitch Lasky participated as well.

Odyssey Interactive was established in 2020 by Riot Games alums Dax Andrus, David Capurro, Eric Lawless, and Richard Henkel.

The group has worked together on titles such as League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.

"Our goal as a dev team has always been to inspire and ignite the competitive spirit of players, and we believe we can hit that aspirational height by integrating their feedback from the beta, and by doubling down on launch," said Andrus.

The studio's debut title Omega Strikers, a free-to-play 3v3 competitive knockout game, is on pace to launch on consoles and mobile in February 2023. It is currently available in open beta for PC.
