Nintendo Switch OLED to launch in China next week

The console's digital store will be region-locked

Nintendo will be releasing its Switch OLED model in mainland China on January 11, 2022.

According to Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad, it will cost RMB 2,599, which is around $400. Its digital store will be region-locked to China.

The Switch OLED launched internationally on October 8, 2021, with Ahmad noting that three months is a "fast turnaround" for a Chinese release, as the Switch Lite for instance has not yet launched in the country.

The original Switch launched in China in December 2019 for RMB 2,099 (around $300 at the time), via Tencent.

As of January 2021, the console had sold one million units in the country. Ahmad said that the Switch is the fastest selling console in China, "both via official units and grey market imports."
