MyGamerCard.net/Giant Realm deal

Xbox community signs with online media network for chaps.

New York, August 13, 2008 – Giant Realm, Inc., the online media company reaching men 18-34 through its rapidly expanding publisher group of community-oriented entertainment sites, today announced that it has signed an exclusive representation deal with MyGamerCard.net.

Known as the largest independent Xbox community on the web, MyGamerCard.net – an official Microsoft community developer – now attracts 1.2 million unique visitors a month, according to comScore’s June 2008 Media Metrix report. With this addition, Giant Realm continues to solidify its position as one of the top gaming properties in comScore Media Metrix’s Games Information Category.

MyGamerCard.net’s popularity stems from its proprietary technology that allows the widely used Xbox 360 gamer card – a virtual I.D. card which boasts the console player’s preferences and achievements – to be posted on websites such as MySpace and Facebook, or used as a forum signature. The MyGamerCard technology makes the card truly portable by automatically updating a gamer’s information as it changes. Furthermore, the MyGamerCard.net community is rife with Xbox 360 players who compare cards, compete for points that are earned when their cards are viewed by others, and hold lively discussions with each other about video games and other topics of interest.

More than 2.7 million people have created a MyGamerCard.net card since the tool was launched in 2005. Microsoft now dominates the next-gen console landscape, having sold more than 19 million Xbox 360s since the console’s debut in 2005.

“Most gamers have favored platforms, genres, and games which they are very passionate about, and when they’re not playing, they’re increasingly turning to trusted online communities devoted to their specific interests,” said Keith Kane, co-founder, SVP Sales & Marketing, Giant Realm, Inc. “Having MyGamerCard.net join our Publisher Group underscores a big part of our mission here at Giant Realm, which is bringing together the most authentic and influential online communities devoted to videogaming passion points.”

Kane continued: “With an A to Z that cuts across many of the top communities, we can deliver millions of young men in masse for advertisers. We also have the ability to reach more targeted audiences, based upon specific gaming interests. We’re proud that MyGamerCard.net has chosen to join our Publisher Group to help us broaden our reach of these audiences.”

“There is an obvious connection between our audience and others within the Giant Realm Publisher Group,” said Jason Young, Founder, MyGamerCard.net. “The company’s laser-focused strategy will clearly benefit us and give us the resources necessary to further develop our technology and community.”
