Monumental Games award
Voted "Innovative Business of the Year" at this year's Fast Growth Business Awards.
Nottingham UK – 20th March 2009 – Monumental Games were voted ‘Innovative Business of the Year’ at this year’s Fast Growth Business Awards, held at the Marriott Grosvenor Square on Wednesday. Past winners of the award, which honours the fastest growing businesses in the UK, include Multimap, InsureandGo, and LoveFilm.
The judging panel, which included entrepreneur and dragon James Caan, Kanya King (founder of the MOBO organisation) and the Head of Marketing for T-Mobile, concluded that “Monumental Games is not yet a household name, though it might well be within a year or two.” The panel added that “Monumental have both innovative technology and an innovative approach to business, licensing their technology to other game creators and also producing their own games.”
The award was received by co-founders Rik Alexander (CEO) and Rocco Loscalzo (CTO). Rik commented, “While it is humbling to receive this award, I also feel that it is much deserved as we have an incredibly dedicated and motivated team at Monumental who have achieved an immense amount over the last year.”
"It's a great place to work", added Rocco, "and of course that all comes down to working with great people. In the end this award is a testament to that.”
Monumental Games is currently working on three major projects across its studios in Nottingham, Manchester and India, including its own forthcoming MMO, ‘Hunter’s World’ as well as collaborations with Cybersports (Football Superstars) and Capcom (as-yet-undisclosed project).
