Mastertronic Group appoints CIO

The Mastertronic Group announced today that they have appointed industry veteran Graham Wayne to the role of Chief Information Officer. The role will combine a wide range of responsibilities including new business development, technology research, product development and management of IT-based administration systems for both the publishing and manufacturing arms of the group.

Managing Director, Andy Payne made this statement: 'As a group, the diverse nature of Mastertronic operations demand an unusually broad range of skills from a CIO. We are very pleased to be able to secure Graham's services because he has worked extensively in games publishing - I first met him when he was at Telecomsoft in the 80s - as well as manufacturing, pre-press, marketing services, IT, comms and security. He is the ideal person to guide our deployment of new technologies as well as manage and develop the group's administrative systems'.

Wayne was equally enthusiastic about his new role, commenting: 'Having worked in a number of industries, the role of CIO at the Mastertronic Group offered me a rare opportunity to contribute widely to a dynamic and forward-looking group of companies. This is an excellent challenge, and the chance to work with top businessmen like Garry Williams and Andy Payne was an offer I couldn't refuse.'

Previously a DTI accredited business consultant, Graham Wayne has for some time been associated with leading solutions provider The Producers, before which he worked at SCI, was a noted technology journalist and a columnist for PCW. His new role as CIO is effective immediately.
