Mario Kart Tour's first-month downloads zoom past 123m

Revenue of $37.4m is the second-best first-month revenue for a Nintendo mobile game

Mario Kart Tour continues to have the strongest launch of a Nintendo mobile game when you look at its downloads, with 123.9 million downloads in its first month. 90 million of those took place in the first week.

For comparison, Super Mario Run saw 21.8 million downloads in its first month (though it was iOS-only until three months after release) and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp had 19.1 million, according to Sensor Tower. By additional comparison, Pokemon Go saw 163 million downloads in its first month.

By lifetime downloads, Super Mario Run has already far and away surpassed Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which sits at 31 million total. However, Super Mario Run's Android launch gave the game a significant boost, and it currently has 236 million total lifetime downloads.

Mario Kart Tour is the second-best Nintendo mobile title for first-month revenue, generating $37.4 million in spending since launch. Only Fire Emblem Heroes did better in its first month, with $67.6 million.
