Lightheart raises $6.8m in Series A funding

Finnish developer will use investment for studio growth and creation of new games

Lightheart Entertainment announced today that it has raised $6.8 million in Series A funding.

The funding round was led by Makers Fund, along with existing investments from Galaxy Interactive, Sisu Game Ventures, and additional angel investors.

The Helsinki, Finland based studio said that it will use the funding to grow its team and develop more titles like its first game, Mr Autofire. Mr Autofire launched in November of 2019 and has generated over $10 million in revenue to date.

Lightheart Entertainment, which was founded in 2019 raised €1.3 million ($1.4 million) last year in a seed funding round.

"We've known Lightheart for a while now and believe that their unique culture and rapid iterative and autonomous approach to game development is a key factor in that success," said Jay Chi, founding partner of Makers Fund.
